French for Rabbits release debut EP ‘Claimed by the Sea’ and announce March/April Tour Dates
Home Alone Music is pleased to announce that the dreamy wellington folk duo French for Rabbits have released their nautically themed debut EP ‘Claimed by the Sea’ on March 1st 2012.
They will be touring their beguiling songs around the country in March and April on a New Zealand tour, performing at intimate venues along the way. These will include an acoustic show at the Theatrette in Oamaru, and a special performance at Wellington's magnificent ballroom, The Moorings.
For the uninitiated, French for Rabbits’ music is reminiscent of Marissa Nadler, Cat Power and Bon Iver. It has been described by bloggers as “beautifully enchanted” and “haunting, to say the least”.
Originally from Christchurch, French for Rabbits consists of vocalist and pianist Brooke Singer, who previously played in the much-loved Ragamuffin Children folk band and shoegaze outfit The O’Lovelys, and guitarist John Fitzgerald.

Hi FFR
ReplyDeleteI just picked up a copy of “claimed by the sea” from Slow Boat, and just wanted to let you know that I think it is very good indeed. You should be proud of it. My only disappointment is that I discovered it after you gig at The Moorings, as I would have tried to get along to that one. Keep up the good work.
Clint
Hi Clint, Pleased to hear you have been enjoying our little EP! We will try and organise another Wellington show for soon, which I hope you can attend.
